The typography and graphic design magazine Slanted reflects following characteristics: elegant, simply structured, modern, warm and harmonic. The way Slanted visualizes these characteristics is the reason why I wanted to analyze this magazine. Especially the Tokyo edition, because of my fascination, inspiration and interest in Japan.
The Slanted series focuses on the international world of design. Each magazine is designed based on the culture they are reporting on — in this case japanese culture. The Dubai edition has a different layout style than the Tokyo one.
The individual designs make each Slanted edition special, without ever loosing their recognizable Slanted design identity.
In that way the audience’s horizon is being expanded. The multicolored world of design is being presented.
That’s what makes Slanted unique.
